Join us for an extraordinary evening on Friday, September 16th from 6:30 pm at the Telus International Center on the University of Alberta Campus.
ACGC will be hosting a reception as well as a Keynote presentation by Dr. Alaa Murabit.
Alaa Murabit is a medical doctor, UN High-Level Commissioner and one of only 17 Sustainable Development Goal Global Advocates appointed by the UN Secretary-General. A champion for inclusive peace processes, Alaa founded Voices of Libyan Women at the age of 21 and her programs are now replicated internationally. She acts as an advisor to numerous international security boards and organizations and a trustee for International Alert and Keeping Children Safe. She has a powerful Ted talk which you can check out here.
Dr. Murabit will address how to effectively engage and implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with specific attention to the objectives set out in Goal 5, to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.
