Space for Students in the Westlawn Area

Many of our older schools are reaching the point where they will soon need major repairs. The older these schools get, the more expensive they are to maintain or upgrade. In March, we hosted a community meeting in the Westlawn area to talk about the condition of area schools.

Parents, students and community members are invited to a second meeting in the Westlawn area to talk about options for schools in your community. These options are based on feedback we received from the first round of community meetings in March, our online survey and from a detailed building assessment of each school. Thank you to everyone who took time to attend a meeting or fill out the survey.

There will be a presentation to share information about the condition of each school, additional data and the feedback we received in March. Potential options will be shared, followed by small group sessions to share your feedback. We want to hear your ideas. Nothing has been decided yet, and any plans will take years to carry out. City of Edmonton staff will join us at the meeting to share information about other community projects happening in the area and answer questions.
