NAVIGATING THE WATERS OF CHANGE

Today's employee faces challenges that did not exist a generation ago. Rapid change occurs at an unprecedented pace and magnitude. We are living in a world of technology, tweets, and posts. There is often little knowledge of the work environment that lies ahead of us.

What does this mean for the work and role of administrative assistants?What do we, as professionals, need to do in this new work environment?

This workshop has been designed to promote awareness, discussion, interaction, reflection, and action to assist you in more effectively navigating the waters of change each of you are experiencing. The focus of the workshop will provide you with a foundation of awareness, knowledge, and skills that will support your ongoing professional growth and development.

We will explore four essential and critical skills or competencies that will enable you to navigate the waters of change in a more effective, efficient, and proactive manner.

OUR FACILITATORS

Daryl JohnsonDaryl has over 25 years of human resources leadership and senior management experience within the private and public sectors. He is involved extensively in leadership program design and facilitation; strategic human resources,change management, and business transformation; team effectiveness facilitation; and executive coaching. Daryl is a seasoned facilitator, trainer, and teacher, and he brings extensive experience working with a wide variety of organizations and all levels of employee groups in leadership, managerial, and supervisory development. He has also been a partner in an Edmonton-based consulting firm, and was the practice director for three international management consulting firms prior to that. During this time, his focus was on assisting a wide variety of clients in the review, design, implementation, and administration of strategic human resource programs that supported organizational effectiveness and change. Daryl has a Master's of Arts – Leadership degree from Royal Roads University, as well as a graduate certificate in executing coaching. He was also a part-time faculty member at the University of Alberta's Faculty of Extension, at NAIT, and at Concordia University College's School of Business, where he taught a number of human resources courses.

Sandra KordybackSandra has extensive experience in leadership, facilitation/focus groups, project planning, implementation, and data analysis that is used to guide the achievement of defined goals within organizations. She has over 15 years of experience in leadership and staff development. Sandra brings her strengths leadership based approach to harnessing individual talents and fostering and developing individual leadership skills that contribute to team engagement. She has experience in the use of measures to address levels of employee engagement. Leading change and transformation are also areas of expertise that she has embraced, resulting in sustained, data-supported improvement, and highly-productive collaborative teams.
