Join us in our series of free lunchtime talks about social issues and learn about diverse ways to help create a healthy, just and inclusive community. Our presenters, Jon Hall (Co-Chair of 104 Street Committee and Co-Chair of Chasing the Purple Flag), Madeleine Smith (Project Manager Reach), and Barbara Ursuliak (Purple Flag Coordinator, Responsible Hospitality Edmonton), invite you to attend with this message:"Our organization, Responsible Hospitality Edmonton (RHE), aims to promote safe, thriving, late-night environments in the city by planning, managing and policing the many aspects of hospitality zones throughout the city. With this goal in mind, RHE engaged the Association of Town Cities Management (ATCM) group in the UK to bring the Purple Flagaccreditation program to Edmonton. ATCM has accredited over 60 town centers in the UK and Europe. If accredited, Edmonton's Warehouse District will be the first Purple Flagged community in North America."Edmonton's pursuit of the Purple Flag allowed for the RHE team to work with an established committee to understand the intimate aspects of the program and determine value of the program for all Edmontonians. RHE is appreciative of the 104 Street Committee and its volunteers for exploring the framework under the banner 'Chasing the Purple Flag.' Currently, work is under way by volunteer teams in the 104th District to evaluate the areas safety, articulate initiatives outcomes and bring attention to community work."This session will cover: Overview of the Purple Flag ProgramWarehouse District PartnersFramework for measurements Insight to committee strategies and outcomes
