Elders are the traditional teachers and knowledge keepers of communities. Their words explore stories of the past and present, along with social priorities and the needs of communities. They also express community viewpoints and knowledge. In this session, filmmaker, director and academic Judy Iseke shares a series of film clips of Elders to explore the meanings and uses of storytelling in Indigenous communities and what sharing stories of the past and present can teach us about life.
