Whether you're new to Canada or you've been here a while, you probably have lots of questions about settling into your new home. We've got answers! The Edmonton Public Library's settlement services offer a series of free presentations on important topics like Employment Standards (knowing your rights and responsibilities), Landlord and Tenant Information, Immigration Issues and more. Guest speakers will discuss a different topic each session and we'll guide you through the many library resources available. Sessions are open to everyone.

October 13: Pathways to Employment

Join our guest speakers from ERIEC Career Mentorship Program, Volunteer Edmonton, and Immigrant Access Fund and learn about:

- The importance of Canadian work experience and networking and how to obtain both
- The benefits of volunteering and where to find volunteer opportunities
- A program that will help you understand Canadian work culture
- Funding opportunities for upgrading if you decide to return to your chosen career through Immigrant Access Fund
- Find out ways in which you can improve your chances of finding employment in Canada

This session will be moderated by the Edmonton Immigrant Services Association (EISA) and is part of a series of presentations titled "New to Canada? Things you need to know"
