Imagine the waters in front of City Hall full of Wishing Boats holding the wishes and blessings of Edmontonians! And this is after you've had a memorable afternoon of mooncake, martial arts, riddles, lantern making and much more! Come down to Churchill Square to celebrate this traditional holiday and to admire the full moon (at night time of course) with others!
All proceeds will go towards the Edmonton Food Bank. The Wishing Boat Launch will follow the Lantern and Lion Dance Parade at 9pm.
Here's a bit of background: The MidAutumn Festival is traditionally a harvest festival that revolves around the gathering of family and friends, giving thanks to the harvest, and wishing for longevity, good fortune, and happiness. It is often celebrated with mooncake, lanterns, and reunions.
