Social Media Breakfast #43 Edmonton

Starts:

Ends:

Friday, June 26

Social Media Breakfast Edmonton Presents:

1 Click, 2 Clicks, Red Click, Blue Click: A Content and User Experience (UX) Primer

Connecting user experience (UX) and content is the recurring theme of today's content strategist. How do you structure your content? How does your content stand and read? Is your content flexible and usable? All are great questions that we often forget when looking at our content development and strategy.

Content can be different in marketing campaigns and in overall strategy. It is valuable to know the differences between each and how UX affects your brand's presence. Understanding your audience includes asking the right questions and recruiting the right people. Knowing your business priorities and the practical nature of your work and UX will help unite two normally conflicting fronts into solid business practices for your brand. Content is much more than your brand voice, it's how your clients and customers ultimately interpret their experience with you!

Meet this Month's Speaker

Sarah is a Vancouver Film School graduate and has been in the marketing and communications for almost eight years. With her Entertainment Business Management Diploma, she got her first big break working with the Vancouver Whitecaps in sports marketing. Sarah moved back to Edmonton in 2007 and launched her boutique agency Orange Ladder Consulting in 2009.

Much of Sarah's experience comes from large web projects over her years as an independent consultant. Some of her recent work includes content strategy and UX work for a local firm in the research field. Sarah is often hoisted into a liaison role between communications and technical teams. In 2014, Sarah's work on a local teahouse—The Tea Girl—won two awards of excellence and an award of merit by IABC Edmonton (Capital Awards).

Sarah loves new media and often volunteers on projects for causes she strongly associates with. She is currently wrapping up her year as one of the Sponsorship Co-chairs of IABC Edmonton and is working towards her BComm at Athabasca University.

Sponsor a Social Media Breakfast Today!

SMBYEG continues to promote digital literacy in the Edmonton Capital Region with the support of our generous sponsors. Sponsors are the lifeblood of SMBYEG, and the reason why we can afford to keep our monthly breakfast free for our attendees. Each month we need a financial donor to help nourish the bodies of our attendees, while our amazing speakers nourish their minds!

For the low, low cost of $349 you can sponsor a breakfast, help us achieve our mission, and get some great publicity.

Contact smbedmonton@gmail.com or tweet @SMBYEG for more information.

Special thanks to Startup Edmonton for providing the venue.
