Welcome to StageLab 2014. It is a pleasure to share our research with you. The Drama Department at the University of Alberta is privileged to have many talented practicing theatre artists on its faculty. Our summer festival, StageLab, supported through the Timms Innovation Fund, showcases the creative activity of our faculty in a professional setting. StageLab encourages collaboration between faculty and local artists and creates a unique context to share ideas about theatre. During the Festival, the Timms Centre for the Arts becomes a laboratory to test new creative and interdisciplinary ideas, to hypothesize original approaches to theatre creation, and to experiment with innovative artistic and theoretical practices.
