Edmonton's NextGen is excited to be hosting TRACK MEÆT...

Use your body and mind(this time you won't be blind)

To find your way aroundThe streets of E-town

A night of puzzles and gamesInvolving both brawns and brains!

Follow the clues (the "Tweets")For fun times and good eats!

TRACK MEÆT brings together wayfinding, microfunding, and an exciting scavenger hunt for a night that is like no other.

Attendees will enjoy an evening of scavenger hunting and strategy. Starting from a central location, you'll join an eight-person team to conquer the hunt, solve the puzzles and snack. You'll also be listening to Edmontonians pitch about their cause/project at various checkpoints. By the end of the evening, each team will discover the secret final location, where you'll be treated to a celebratory feast and see the results of the hunt. Finally, vote for the winner to receive your collective pot of gold!

Event FAQ

What do I need?

We recommend bringing a smartphone, but if you don't have one, that's okay. We'll make sure there's at least one phone per team.

What if I don't know other people, or if I come with a group with fewer than eight people?

The idea is to mix and mingle with new people, so don't worry. The hunt is built to break the ice.

What is wayfinding?

Wayfinding encompasses all the ways that people find their way around a city or space in order to get to their destination. It includes maps, signage and other design elements meant to help citizens navigate.

Sponsors

We are very grateful to the Downtown Edmonton Community League for helping to sponsor our event. Also, thanks to the Edmonton Wayfinding Project for helping us along the way.

What is MEÆT?

MEÆT is a local crowdfunding event designed to bring us together for a meal and listen to a variety of home-grown ideas. The one thing all the presenters have in common is that they need your funding to bring their idea to reality.

You can (1) apply to present your project, or (2) experience the presentations and vote for your favorite. Out of the $25 ticket price, $10 goes towards the pot for the evening. Either way, you'll enjoy an excellent dinner and conversation with like minded citizens.

The best presentation (as determined by the votes) receives the night's funding.

Please note there are no ticket refunds.
