In 1985, a small team of women in Vancouver voluntarily organized a walk and started raising funds to help end global poverty. They had come from Asia and Africa and wanted to give back to the communities they left behind. That year, they had 1,000 walkers and raised $55,000 in donations.

Look how far we've come…

The World Partnership Walk attracts close to 40,000 walkers in ten cities across the country. We've raised over $82 million to fight global poverty, making this the largest and most successful event of its kind in Canada. 100% of the funds are used to support international development projects identified and implemented by local communities – projects that rejuvenate rural economies, ensure clean water and sanitation, strengthen local community-based organizations, and educate new generations of girls and boys.

Take steps to end global poverty. Join for our 30th anniversary at Legislature Grounds on June 8th to celebrate all that we have achieved so far.
