Spring into summer as we celebrate art in Alberta with special guest & presenter, Katherine Ylitalo and a custom menu by Zinc Restaurant (Edmonton) and Muse Restaurant and Lounge (Calgary).

Her talk, Where Do We Come from? What Are We? Where Are We Going?, takes its title from the title of an 1897 painting by Paul Gauguin and prompts questions that can be applied to the Alberta art scene. Mix in the metaphors of garden and ecology and get set for a three-part talk about art in Alberta since 1924.

Katherine Ylitalo is an independent curator, writer, educator art and garden historian based in Calgary. Currently, she is working on the exhibition, Made in Calgary: 2000s, which will open in September at the Glenbow and the Nickle Galleries at the University of Calgary.
