Chris Marker (July 29, 1921 – July 29, 2012), was a French filmmaker (film essayist), writer, photographer, poet, and multimedia artist who challenged moviegoers, philosophers, and himself for many years with his complex queries about time and memory. The Metro invites you to travel back in time with the ground-breaking and visionary Marker to Paris in 1962, the year of possibly his most creative outburst of filmmaking.

La Joli Mai (The Lovely Month of May)
A marvellous, highly influential examination of a specific time and place: Paris in May 1962, going through its first spring of peace since 1939. The basic method is simple: Marker and his colleagues (unseen) elicit comments on work, money, happiness, etc, from a cross-section of Parisians.
