Casablanca has, over the decades, become so much part of the pop culture vernacular that any synopsis of the film seems redundant. It certainly represents, in the public imagination, the epitome of the legendary Bogart screen persona - cynical, solitary, sardonic, self-reliant, world-weary, anti-heroic, but ultimately redeemable by love.
