I am so excited to finally announce that the release date and concert for my brand new album, Unravel, is May 9, 2013.
As you probably know, this CD has been a long time coming! It's taken about two years of stops and starts, and trying to juggle different parts of life to finish it. Along the way, some wonderful musicians have come along for the ride, and helped me to create something I'm really proud of. Produced by Russell Broom and Mike Lent, the album is first and foremost a collection of stories based on everyday moments that I've watched around me - and I can't wait for you to hear them!
I'm also really looking forward to sharing these songs with new listeners across the country. On May 12, along with my brother/ guitar player/ man of many hats, I'll be embarking on my first tour across Canada to promote the album in partnership with VIA Rail. Through their entertainment program, we'll be playing shows on the train from Vancouver to Toronto, but also stopping in Vancouver, Victoria, Saskatoon, Regina, Winnipeg, Toronto, and Calgary to play at clubs and venues in each city along the way.
But this message is really about Edmonton! If you've never yet seen me perform live, this is the show!!! And if you have seen me live before, I'll be joined this time by my co-producer Mike Lent on bass and some of Edmonton's best players. Braden Gates, an amazing songwriter just back from touring Canada and Europe himself, will be opening and I couldn't be more thrilled about it! This will also be your first official chance to pick up a new CD. Tickets are limited, so make sure you get yours!
I can't wait to see you there! While doors officially will open at 7:00 pm, the lobby will be open from 6:45 and be a great chance to visit, grab a drink, and settle in! Feel free to invite a friend (or two ;) and pass this message along. The show is a few days before Mother's Day as well - so maybe you can even treat someone. I can't say it enough - thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support so far. I am so excited to celebrate with you!
