First Nations Conference on Sustainable Buildings & Communities

First Nations Conference on Sustainable Buildings & Communities

Starts:

Wednesday, February 29
10:00 AM

Ends:

Wednesday, February 29
9:30 PM

This year's inaugural First Nations Conference on Sustainable Buildings and Communities will focus on stimulating dialogue between a broad range of stakeholders regarding sustainable and appropriate building options for Canada's First Nations communities.

While recent media attention has been focused on the conditions at the Attawapiskat reserve, the crisis regarding infrastructure in Canadian First Nations communities has been prevalent for years. Lack of funding, over crowding and poorly built structures are just some of the issues being blamed for the dire circumstances. In response to this ongoing crisis, the Sustainable Buildings Consortium is holding the First Nations Conference on Sustainable Buildings and Communities.

The First Nations Conference on Sustainable Buildings and Communities will offer an excellent selection of speakers, including Charles Wood, Wanda Dalla Costa, Chief Clarence Louie, Dr. Leona Makokis, and many more.

We are expecting 200 delegates ranging from First Nations Elders and Council Leaders to Environmental Scientists, Architects, Engineers, Sustainability Leaders, Educators and Students.
