Edmonton Opera's final offering of the season is the completion of Verdi's trio of Shakespeare operas. After a mesmerizing Macbeth in 2007 and a raucous Falstaff in 2008, we are proud to bring Verdi?s last tragedy to the stage in April 2010. Otello melds the famous story of jealousy and betrayal with music both compelling and complex, and the result is a work that soars and tumbles with the hopes - and desolation - of its central characters. The opera is faithful to Shakespeare, and the all-Canadian cast will draw audiences into a web of treachery, love, sacrifice and loss.
