Mayfield
Mayfield was named in honour of Wop May, World War I pilot and pioneer of Edmonton's civilian aviations. Mayfield's street pattern is a good example of the modified grid pattern that became popular after World War II. Single family residences, predominately bungalow, were built throughout the 1950s and are arranged around a central park and school site. Nearby are several multi-family sites and a small commercial element.
