  project but became overwhelmed.\n\nThis program is designed to guide peop
 le through all stages of their memoir project: planning\, researching\, wr
 iting and printing. (Program limited to 12 participants)\n\nDuring the cou
 rse of these sessions\, each participant may schedule a meeting with the W
 riter in Residence for individual feedback.\n\nWeek One: In what ways can 
 a memoir be structured? We will cover chronological\, thematic and combina
 tion approaches so you can choose what is best for your story. We will als
 o discuss library resources for memoir writing.\n\nWeek Two: What facts do
 es your story depend on? What details does it need to be interesting? How 
 do you collect this information? This week we will cover basic research me

 L's Safe Communities Writing My Story creative writing workshop series is 
 designed to assist participants with telling their story through writing.

DESCRIPTION:Judy Schultz is a nationally renowned travel and food writer\, 
 the author of ten books\, and the winner of numerous awards. Her publicati
 ons include Looking for China: Travels on a Silk Road\, Mamie's Children: 
 Three Generations of Prairie Women\, Nibbles and Feasts\, and Jean Pare: A
 ppetite for Life. She also co-authored The Food Lover's Guide to Alberta\,
  Volumes 1 and 2. Judy divides her time between Alberta and New Zealand\, 
 and devotes her attention to travelling\, cooking\, and writing. Her most 
 recent novel is Freddy's War\, which is long listed for the EPL Alberta Re
 aders' Choice Award and a Finalist for the Robert Kroetsch City of Edmonto
