Lunch and Learn: Urban Beekeeping Project at MacEwan

Starts:

Friday, October 28
11:30 AM

Ends:

Friday, October 28
1:30 PM

Join the Office of Sustainability for lunch, and learn about the Urban Beekeeping Project!

This casual, drop-in event is an opportunity to learn about the bee hotel and rooftop beehives that were installed this year. Learn interesting facts about pollinators like solitary bees and honeybees, and how you can get involved in food security initiatives at MacEwan and at home.

This project is made possible by Campus Services, the Office of Sustainability, and our resident beekeeper: Troy Donovan.

Campus Services is committed to re-purposing campus space to grow food locally and naturally and activating solutions for positive environmental, social and economic impact. Our Urban Beekeeping project has a particular emphasis on increasing food security in an urban setting and focuses on education and economic sustainability as effective strategies for achieving these goals.
