URBANYEG #URBANYEGFPBP - FOR THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE

Starts:

Saturday, May 28
7:00 PM

Ends:

Sunday, May 29
12:00 AM

This event is taking place to celebrate all the people who have helped make URBANYEG what it is today! It's called "For the People By the People" because a lot of the people who are attending are the same people who will be performing and/or volunteering to help make it happen. They are already a part of the URBANYEG community!

This is your chance to support the URBANYEG community and support Mental Health! A large portion of proceeds from all ticket sales will be donated to Momentum Walk-In Counselling, a clinic that helps those with mental health concerns.

What started off as an Instagram account has now become a massive community and curates and features the artwork of local photographers. In just over a year, the URBANYEG community has grown to 15k followers and has rallied together beyond Instagram to support peer learning, raise awareness about mental health issues, and volunteer for such organizations as Ronald McDonald House, Ribbon Rouge, HIV Edmonton, iHuman Youth Society and more! Collaborations are now taking place with the City of Edmonton and the Art Gallery of Alberta.

#URBANYEGFPBP is an evening of entertainment and fun where CREATIVITY meets COMMUNITY.

The evening will begin with a few key speakers who will be talking about URBANYEG and how it has personally impacted their lives by being involved, Vanlee and Angela Tran will speak about their brother, Evan Tran, who they lost to suicide last year, Kimberly Knull the Executive Director for Momentum Walk-In Counselling will speak about her clinic and how they can help, Councillor Scott McKeen will briefly discuss his mental health initiatives, and it will end off with a short keynote by URBANYEG Founder, Chan Rin, and you will know where URBANYEG came from, what they are doing today, and where it is going.

Afterwards, you'll have a chance to see some amazing dance performances by BBM and The Spirit Boys, a never-before seen interactive musical mashup with Edmonton based Lindsey Nagy and URBANYEG original member, Raymar Yu @giffardmusic. There will be a rap performance by Lemmy G, a special ballet performance by Sarah Tabler, a hoop dance performance by Brittany Holmes, and URBANYEG is featuring guest DJ, DJ Champ, from Toronto that will be providing the beats all night long and end off the night with a special house and dance music set with a light show!! The floor will be open for dancing for the rest of the night!!

This is your chance to mix and mingle with our city's best CREATIVES! Enjoy an evening of mixing and mingling with Edmonton's creative community that include photographers, graphic designers, hair and makeup artists, models, videographers, fashion designers, entrepreneurs, bloggers, recording artists, musicians, artists, dancers, web designers, social media celebs, and more! If you are in any of these industries, this event is for you!!

In addition, URBANYEG will be accepting non-perishable food donations for the Edmonton Food Bank. Please visit the Edmonton Food Bank for a list of items you are able to donate. Anyone who donates food will be entered to win a prize!

Each ticket includes beverages like pop, juice, water snacks will be provided by Oodle Noodle!

McBain Camera is also sponsoring 16x metal 11"x11" prints! The URBANYEG team will select our favourite 8 photos from this past year and present them to the photographer and then we will raffle off the exact same 8 prints to our guests!

Tickets are $20.

We look forward to seeing you there!!
