It's Black History Month and AfroQuiz, an annual Jeopardy-style quiz competition celebrating the rich history of people of African descent, will take place Saturday, February 27 to help instill a sense of pride in Black history for the youth of Edmonton and surrounding areas.
AfroQuiz is open to students aged 8 to 18, and registration is now open at AfroQuiz.ca. The event is free for all ages and will take place on Saturday, February 27 at 1PM at Stanley A. Milner Library (7 Sir Winston Churchill Square).
David Shepherd, MLA for Edmonton-Centre, said, "AfroQuiz is a great way to help teach our youth about the rich history and contributions the Black community has made in Alberta. It's also a great reminder for ourselves."
