The Mill Woods Living Heritage project aims to improve understanding between diverse cultures in Mill Woods, and between residents of Mill Woods and those in other parts of the city. To most Edmontonians Mill Woods is still considered a new community. Yet its history is written on the landscape, a landscape we will begin to explore as we discuss the history of Mill Woods and map what it means to participants.

Thanks to the members of the Ridgewood Community League and Gurdwara Mill Woods for welcoming us on the walk. Men and women should not wear shorts or short skirts; please wear clothes that cover your arms and legs, cover your heads and remove your shoes upon entry to the Gurdwara.

Videographer Don Bouzek and historian Catherine C. Cole have been working on a multiyear arts and heritage project about the history of Mill Woods since 2012, this year in collaboration with artist Aaron Paquette. This project of Ground Zero Productions is funded by the the Alberta Historical Resources Foundation, the Edmonton Heritage Council, and the Mill Woods Presidents Council.
