EcoCity Edmonton: Community Sustainability Grants
We believe that protecting and improving the environment within Edmonton's borders is everyone's responsibility. Through EcoCity Edmonton, you can learn about Edmonton's environmental vision, find inspiration to take action in your community and get a grant to help you get your idea off the ground.
This program was piloted in 2014 as the Neighbourhood Action Program.
Program Details
We are partnering with Alberta EcoTrust to deliver environmental grants to help support energy literate citizens with energy conserving lifestyles and a strong shift to active and public transportation.
We believe these grants, available to non-profits, community leagues, schools and charities, will engage Edmontonians to work on these challenges and provide them with support to collaborate and to create positive environmental change in their own backyards.
The focus will be on community projects that help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Examples of neighbourhood projects include:
Walking school bus
Installation of solar panels on a community facility
Tool-lending library
You must attend one of the learning sessions to apply for the grants.
Upcoming Learning Sessions
Attendance of a learning session is mandatory for this grant. Sessions for 2015 will be held:
