1. What is it the Energy Transition Strategy?
It's a broad framework for the City of Edmonton to develop policies that would transition Edmonton to a low carbon city by 2050 and outlines eleven strategic actions to make this happen.

Passing this Strategy gives City Administration direction to develop policies to support an energy transition.

Why is this important?

Climate change is the most pressing challenge of our generation. While the City of Edmonton can't address the problem of climate change on its own, it can be part of the solution and help make our communities healthier and more sustainable in the process.

What can you do?
Edmonton City Council is set to vote on the Energy Transition Strategy on April 29, 2015. If you care about this, you can:

A) Get in touch with City Councillors and the Mayor. Tell them that climate change is an important issue to you, and that you support the Energy Transition Strategy as an important first step.

You can connect with Councillors in four ways:
1. Email your councillor: http://www.edmonton.ca/city_government/city_organization/city-councillors.aspx.
2. Hand write and deliver a letter by mail or in person (by delivering it to the Councillor's Executive Assistant at City Hall).
3. Phone your councillor
4. Make an appointment to meet with City Councillors face to face.

B. Come to the City Council meeting on April 29th. City council needs to know the public is watching and cares about this issue.
