The Edmonton Youth Talent Show celebrates its 4th year and is going strong! The overall goal of the event is to help promote the development of local Edmonton talent. EDMONTON YOUTH TALENT SHOW 2015RULES, REGULATIONS & INFORMATION(please read these carefully) The Edmonton Youth Talent Show recognizes the fact that standard procedures are required for a fair and smoothly run competition. Registration Information:1. Contestants MUST pay a participant fee.2. Contestants must be within 5-18 years of age as of April 17, 2015.3. Registration fees are set annually at the discretion of the EYTS Planning Committee. The 2015 fee is $25 (for each title). The exception is the Duets/Groups. The cost for the Duets/Groups is $40 (for two - five people).4. Fees are payable upon registration. Refunds are allowed up to the registration deadline only.5. Contestants can enter any number of categories (genres) within their age restrictions. In the event that a past participant has been a Grand Prize winner in a specific age category, they may not participate unless they have advanced in age to the next category.6. Registration Deadline is April 17th, 2015, 11:30 pm.PLEASE BRING PRINTED PAPER TICKET (WITH QR CODE) TO EVENT WHERE IT WILL BE SCANNED. Participant & Teacher/Parent Information:7. Participants will be notified of their time, April 20, 2015 prior to the event via email. (It is up to the parent to look after this information).8. A PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN MUST BE PRESENT AT THE REGISTRATION DESK ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT TO SIGN A MEDIA AND LIABILITY WAIVER FORM (forms provided)9. Contestant must be checked in and ready to perform 1(one) hour prior to their scheduled performance time. There will be no exceptions.10. It is the teachers, parents and/or contestants' responsibility to check in.11. Teachers or parents must check all selections. This is a family friendly event. Absolutely no foul language will be accepted and use of either will result in disqualification.12. Music MUST be on a USB Flash Stick or CD. NOTE: The music used for each performance MUST be the only musical selection on the flash stick or CD. Please label ALL USB flash stick(s) and/or CD(s). Failure to comply will result in marks deducted for that performance. USB Flash Sticks and CDs will be returned after the performance.13. Contestants must provide their own accompaniment, No lead vocal allowed. All vocal entries have a time limit up to 4 minutes and 30 seconds. Any seconds past this limit, the participant is disqualified.14. The Edmonton Youth Talent Show will not be responsible for lost or stolen items.15. The Edmonton Youth Talent Show will not be responsible for any personal injury received during the Talent Show.16. No person will be allowed to enter or leave during a performance or adjudication.17. ONLY participants are permitted backstage. Under no circumstances will Parents or Teachers be allowed backstage.18. All complaints must be made in writing to the Edmonton Youth Talent Show 2015 at tracmail@tracspirit.ca Adjudication:19. Contestants will be judged by percentages on both technique and showmanship. (50% technique & 50% showmanship)20. All entries will be timed and any extension of the allocated 4 minute and 30 seconds limit will result in automatic disqualification from the competition. The timekeepers and adjudicator decision will be final.21. Absolutely no prompting or directing will be tolerated. This will result in disqualification.22. Any approaches made to the adjudicators will result in disqualification.23. A competitor may restart but cannot receive an award.24. Adjudication for each age category and musical genre are presented as follows:• GOLD – (85% - 100%)• SILVER – (75% - 84%)• BRONZE – (65% - 74%)There may be more than one or none of all levels given out. A single entry in a category does not mean a gold by default. A mark will be given for their performance. Prizes will be awarded to all golds in each age and genre category.All participants will receive a certificate with their earned embossed seal.All GOLD (First Place Winners) will be asked to stay around until the FINALE (last hour of the Event/Competition) to determine the grand winner of each category.THE GRAND PRIZES will be awarded to the Top 3 performers with the highest percentage mark in each AGE category across the genres. Selection is based on calculation of percentages of their performances (by adjudicator).An OVERALL MOST PROMISING AWARD will be given out to the performer who shows integrity, determination and potential.

ENCORE PERFORMANCES:Some performers will be asked to perform their best musical performance at local community events. Below are some examples of some of these events.Community Events:• South West Edmonton Farmers Market - May to October 2015, Wed.
