Buena Vista Road Reconstruction Information Session

The City will share the final plans for Buena Vista Road reconstruction as well as construction timelines and traffic impacts. Reconstruction of Buena Vista Road from 142 Street to 132 Street will begin in spring 2015 and is scheduled to be completed by fall 2016.

The City developed a concept plan for Buena Vista Road in preparation for road reconstruction in 2015. Public feedback from two previous meetings in 2014 was incorporated in the final design.

Buena Vista Road is a collector road serving the neighbourhoods of Parkview and Laurier Heights. It also provides access to river valley amenities like the Valley Zoo, the Edmonton Rowing Club, Sir Wilfred Laurier Park, Buena Vista Park, and others. Road users include residents and Edmontonians accessing these river valley amenities.

Safety and speeding are significant concerns along Buena Vista Road. Since 2000, there have been several pilot projects implemented to address speeding concerns.
