Earth Hour is a global lights-out phenomenon led by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to show support for action on climate change.
Numerous City buildings participated in Earth Hour 2014, with an average of 35% reduction in energy use. As a result of everyone's efforts, Edmonton decreased its power consumption approximately 3%*.
The City of Edmonton continues to support Earth Hour in a variety of ways and encourages everyone to get involved in whatever way works best for them, so long as it happens in the dark! Come on, Edmonton - let's power down to support action on climate change!
