Calling all students! Don't miss the fifth annual Student Sustainability Summit, taking place January 24 and 25, 2015 at the University of Alberta. This conference strives to provide students with the tools and resources needed to accomplish sustainable change by providing opportunities to develop relevant leadership and employability skills. The summit is hosted by the Office of Sustainability, Sustain SU and the Students' Umbrella for Social Justice.

This year's theme is Food for Thought - Exploring pathways to sustainable food systems, a critical exploration of the processes, policies and impacts that our food systems have on people, planet and profit. From farm to fridge, we all experience and interact with food frequently and in varied ways. We will examine the structure, strengths and weaknesses of the complex food systems within which we exist, and learn how food relates to: culture, politics, justice, health, environment, land use and more. Through a solutions-based approach we will explore community-driven movements and the ways in which food activism opens the door for sustainable food systems.
