This FREE conference is for students and teachers who have a GSA or are interested in starting one in their school. The conference will take place at Faculty of Education, University of Alberta on Saturday, November 22, 2014 as part of the province's Bullying Prevention Awareness Week activities.

At this conference you will learn strategies to help create, support, and sustain your GSA, meet other inspiring students and teachers from across the province, and learn more about sexual and gender minority (LGBTQ) youth issues through a series of workshops, resource displays, and participate in an amazing keynote presentation/performance from Canadian performer, musician, and award-winning author Ivan Coyote.

Travel Bursaries

Thanks to generous support from the Ministry of Human Services, we are thrilled to offer travel bursaries for schools outside of Edmonton area to attend the 3rd annual Provincial GSA Conference on November 22, 2014.

Each K-12 school, which is attending with student delegates, is eligible to receive up to $500 to assist with travel costs to attend the conference.

Bursaries are distributed on a first come, first serve basis. To apply, please send us the following information:

To claim your bursary, after the conference is over, you will need to invoice the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services and attach receipts for up to $500.00.
