Passionate, profound, inspiring and funny, Tzeporah Berman is motivating people from all walks of life to get off the sidelines and fight the good fight—and win.

“This is a crazy time we are living in. For decades we have been burning our way through oil and coal and treating our atmosphere like an ashtray. Now, the economic implications, the impact on water and food, the human dislocation, all make climate change the greatest challenge humanity has ever faced.”

Tzeporah Berman has been instrumental in shaping the tactics and concerns of the modern environmental movement. Twenty years in, she is here to help you fight for a better world.

About the speaker

Tzeporah Berman (Twitter: @Tzeporah) has been designing and winning environmental campaigns for over twenty years. She is known for her work as the coordinator of one of the largest civil disobedience campaigns in Canadian history—the logging blockades in Clayoquot Sound, during which she was arrested and charged with 857 counts of criminal aiding and abetting. Tzeporah Berman was also one of the creators and lead negotiators of the successful campaign to protect British Columbia's Great Bear Rainforest. Along with her work on the Canadian Boreal Forest Agreement, she has contributed to the protection of over 40 million hectares of old growth forests.

More recently Tzeporah Berman helped to design Greenpeace International's Arctic campaign, the Volkswagen campaign in Europe and the Clean Our Cloud campaign that led to Apple and Facebook becoming international leaders in using renewable energy. She currently works as a strategic advisor for dozens of environmental organizations, First Nations and philanthropic advisors on clean energy, oilsands and pipelines. She is the former co-director of Greenpeace International's Global Climate and Energy Program as well as co-founder of ForestEthics.
