The three candidates running for the leadership of the Progressive Conservative Party of Alberta are the guest speakers at this summer's Edmonton Conservative Speakers Series breakfasts. This month we are pleased to welcome Jim Prentice, the former federal Conservative minister of the Departments of Industry, the Environment and Aborginal Affairs in the Harper government. The Calgary lawyer, former aboriginal land claims negotiator and, until recently, CIBC vice-president, is the only candidate not currently serving in the Legislature. But the “outsider” is supported by most of the PC caucus and is leading in the polls. Mr. Prentice's platform is based on fiscal responsibility, restoring trust in government, maximizing resource development, strengthening property rights, and world-class leadership on the environment, health care and education. Can he deliver? Judge for yourself at our next breakfast on Friday, July 25.
Our June speaker was candidate Ric McIver, and on Friday, August 29, our speaker will be candidate Thomas Lukaszuk. Mark these dates in your summer calendar now so you can hear from and ask questions of all the candidates, one of whom will become Premier of Alberta this fall.

The Edmonton Conservative Speakers Series is hosted by the Edmonton-Strathcona and Edmonton-Centre Federal Conservative Electoral District Associations. All Edmonton conservatives and friends welcome.

Cash and cheques will be accepted at the door. This event is not a fundraiser for an Electoral District Association, so corporate cheques are permitted. All cheques are to be made payable to "Edmonton Conservative Speakers Series".
