Everyone knows children have big imaginations, but in a world full of electronic gadgets, it's easy to forget just how much joy and creativity imagination can fuel. The ability to imagine oneself in another person's place is important to the development of social skills and empathy. A healthy imagination helps children, of any age, learn to express themselves and develop self-confidence. Albert Einstein once said, "Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world."

By exposing our kids to experiences such as the Northern Alberta International Children's Festival, we are opening their minds to a bigger and more exciting world. Performances and activities are meticulously planned to introduce many facets of arts and culture. Children will tap into the power of imaginative thinking as they sing and dance to world music, interact with roving artists, listen to stories about faraway places, and create their own masterpieces.

Thanks to the dedicated support and overwhelming generosity of our partners, sponsors and volunteers; thousands of children are headed toward a lifetime of creativity as their Imaginations Take Flight.
