"Reform and Reconciliation"

The last of seven national events held by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada that is gathering stories from Canadians who attended aboriginal residential schools is being held in Edmonton at the end of March. Minister Valcourt will be here for this major national event, and will discuss the work of the 5-year, $60 million Commission as guest speaker at our Friday, March 28, Conservative Speakers Breakfast.

Minister Valcourt, a veteran federal and provincial politician from New Brunswick who once served in the cabinets of former Conservative Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, will also address the ground-breaking First Nations Education Act, the Harper government's ambitious overhaul of Canada's current aboriginal education system. And he will discuss the progress of negotiations with First Nations communities that lie in the path of pipelines needed to transport Alberta energy products to new markets.

All these timely issues will be of great interest to those who attend our March 28 Edmonton Conservative Speakers Series Breakfast.
