Join the New Edmonton Wind Sinfonia (NEWS) for a lovely concert, just in time for Valentine's Day! "For Band Lovers" features beautiful music that sets a romantic mood: very listenable, and sure to set your heart racing! Join us to hear the most passionate NEWS under the baton of Music Director Raymond Baril: Sunday, February 12th, at the U of A’s Myer Horowitz Theatre.
The concert repertoire includes the following selections: - Quiet City by Aaron Copland - featuring guest artists Chris Hodge on trumpet and Marla McCready on English Horn - Lincolnshire Posy by Percy Grainger - Dance Movements by Philip Sparke - Ghost Train by Eric Whitacre - A Symphonic Prelude on "Black is the Color of My True Love's Hair" by Alfred Reed - Masque by Kenneth Hesketh - My Heart is Filled With Longing by J.S. Bach, adapted and arranged by Alfred Reed
