Grant MacEwan University's Showcase Band Concert is a sell-out year after year for good reason. This highly energetic and diverse contemporary performance is the result of competitive auditions and hours of rehearsal.
The show will feature two Showcase Bands ? one led by MacEwan's piano/theory section head, Bill Richards and the other led by MacEwan's head of composition, Allan Gilliland.
Each ensemble consists of four vocalists, a rhythm section of drums, bass, guitar, two keyboards, and six horn players. These ensembles cover many different styles and genres. Audiences will hear everything from Aerosmith and En Vogue, to Eurythmics, Stevie Wonder and Jaco Pastorius.
In addition, each half of the concert will be opened by MacEwan's Guitar Band and Percussion Ensemble.
