 murder.  Professor Jerry White will discuss a few of the film's famous seq
 uences to show the degree to which Witness is an exceptionally nuanced\, i
 ntensely visual and finally quite melancholy portrait of a seminally Ameri
 can dilemma: the play between the county\, the city\, and lawless violence
 .Jerry White is Associate Professor of Film Studies at the University of A

 m the inability to distinguish between his sleeping and waking life. Etern
 al Sunshine of the Spotless Mind director Michael Gondry creates another v
 isually witty and technically ingenious film that explores the instability
  of desire\, relationships\, and consciousness itself.Lori Walter is a lib
 rary assistant at the Edmonton Public Library\, and holds an M.A. in Engli

 The Company (2003)One of Robert Altman's last films\, The Company is a com
 position of stories about the Joffrey Ballet of Chicago\, with most of the

 d Malcolm McDowell\, the film blends dance performances and bittersweet dr
 ama. Paul Matwychcuk will discuss how Altman departs from his usual &quot\
 ;ensemble-style&quot\; of filmmaking and makes the dance troupe its own co
