One in every 100 Canadians suffers from schizophrenia. Many others have severe mental illnesses like bipolar disorder or sever depression that can cause symptoms similar to schizophrenia, including psychosis (delusion, hallucinations), social withdrawal and loss of self-awareness. With proper treatment and a lot of understanding and support from those around them, most people who experience mental illness can recover and get back to enjoying life.
Open Minds Walk & Run is a fundraising project. The money raised will be used to enable us to provide much needed programs and services for Albertans challenged by schizophrenia and psychosis.
