Ford vehicles from all eras will be making their way to downtown Edmonton this weekend to take part in the annual All Ford Classic Show. This will be the last year the annual Healy Ford and Alberta Mustang Owners Association (AMOA) event will be held in downtown Edmonton, and it is expected to be bigger and better than before.
Started a dozen years ago, the All Ford Classic Show was initiated as a means of raising money for cancer research. "It was the only all Ford event in the Edmonton area and we thought it would be unique," said this year's show chairperson Daryl Royer, noting many of the AMOA's volunteers have personal reasons for wanting to raise money for the Alberta Cancer Foundation. "We all know the importance of what they do."
This year, 150 vehicles are expected to be on site and Royer says the one-day event will attract as many as 4,000 people to the downtown dealership. "We get a good mix of (Ford) vehicles from all years," he said, adding it is a great family event with music, a silent auction, prizes and, of course, a gallery of Ford classics.
